Woodward Visits Gatton Building

On Friday, September 18, the Gatton College of Business was honored to host entertainment marketing businessman and Gatton Alumni Hall of Fame member Terry Woodward ’63, for a tour of the new Gatton building. Woodward and his daughter Angie were joined by Gatton College Dean David W. Blackwell, and Director of Development Greg Casey.

"Being able to host such a wonderful representative of the college, and particularly show him the newly constructed Woodward Hall, is a rewarding experience,” said Blackwell. "When you look at Terry Woodward’s business accomplishments and philanthropic achievements, you can’t help but feel fortunate to have him as a part of the Gatton College family. He is a model ambassador for the university and serves as a great leadership example for our current students. We’re proud to have his name on our walls."

The walls in reference are of the new Woodward Hall, a modern banquet and event space in the new, $65-million Gatton College building. Surrounded by state-of-the-art audio-visual components that can serve as entertainment or visual backdrops for special events, the hall can be arranged for lectures, dinners, or any higher-end event that the college requires. Housed on the third floor of the new facility, the events hall opens to an impressive outdoor terrace that overlooks the university campus and the iconic Memorial Hall.

“I think the new Gatton building is absolutely necessary,” said Woodward. “In today’s world, business schools need both technology and space to accomplish the educational mission and to grow. I’m proud to be a part of this project.”
